The International Multidimensional Engine Modeling User’s Group Meeting at the SAE Congress, is organized in association with the Engine Research Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison and Michigan Technological University, in Detroit Downtown at 10:30 am – 7:30 pm on April 20, 2020. This time and place is chosen because it is expected that many engine modeling code users will be attending the SAE Congress and Exhibition to be held in Detroit, Michigan, in April, 2020. The purpose of the conference is to encourage the exchange of information about engine modeling and to help promote the use of engine modeling by the engine industry.

This meeting will accept papers which feature applications of CFD codes and the development of novel submodels for engine simulations. The agenda of the meeting will be available on March 20, 2020 at https://www.erc.wisc.edu/imem/. The archive past papers at the meetings can be found on the page.

Presentations may encompass applications of CFD codes in the real engine geometry, development of innovative submodels for engine processes, and integration of CFD codes with other simulation tools for new engine designs. Applications of commercial packages by code users, e.g., Star-CD, FIRE, Fluent, Vectis, FORTE, CONVERGE, OpenFOAM, etc., to engine simulations are especially welcome. The presenter of accepted papers will be given a gratis admission to this event. If you are interested in sponsoring this event, please contact Michael Andrie at 608-263-1615, mandrie@wisc.edu.

The presentations will end at approximately 5:30 pm and the meeting will be followed by a reception. Registration fee is $200 US ($150 US before April 6, 2020). An additional fee of $50 US will be charged for later registrations. The registration fee is to help defray the cost for the reception and facilities. If you plan to attend the meeting, you may register on-line. Speakers will be provided a gratis registration link after acceptance of their paper.

Important deadlines are:

January 31, 2020: Offer of presentation (by email to yra@mtu.edu with proposed paper title and authors)

March 13, 2020: Extended Abstract Due (by email to yra@mtu.edu, no more than 6 pages with page size of 8.5 inches times 11 inches in MS Word or PDF format)

March 20, 2020: Notification of Acceptance and Presentation Schedule finalized

April 6, 2020: Last day to register at the reduced fee
