Project
A system level model integrated diesel engine model, emission models, and aftertreatment device models has been developed. All the sub-models have been developed separately and come from a variety of different sources. The diesel engine model is developed through 1-D simulation commercial software GT-Power; the emission models contain soot model, Nox model, and CO model are all written in Matlab; and aftertreatment models including DOC (Diesel Oxidation Catalyst converter) model and DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) model are in Fortran. The Matlab/Simulink is used to integrated the existing sub-models into an overall system model. Thus, each sub-model can be modified, rearranged and controlled easily. The project goal is to study the engine, aftertreatment devices and device-device interactions, particularly, to study and optimize the aftertreatment devices using the integrated system model.
